ACS 2020–2024 estimates · Checked October 3, 2026
Historical context, not current price quotes. These five-year estimates describe 2020–2024. They are not October 2026 asking rents, sale prices, or mortgage offers.

What to check before choosing
- Find current listings that match your bedroom count and preferred location.
- Get property-specific tax, insurance, HOA, and utility estimates.
- Check your actual work route at the times you would travel.
- Research the specific property's flood exposure, condition, and permit history.
These area figures cannot establish what you can afford or which city is right for you. The rent and ownership figures describe different households and properties; their difference is not a rent-versus-buy savings calculation.
Know what you’re comparing
The middle monthly gross-rent amount for renter-occupied homes paying cash rent. Gross rent includes contract rent plus applicable tenant-paid utilities and fuels. It is not a quote for a new lease.
The middle reported value of owner-occupied homes. It is not the median sale price of homes currently on the market.
Median selected monthly costs for mortgaged owner-occupied homes, including mortgage payments and specified housing expenses such as taxes, insurance, and utilities. It is not a new-loan payment estimate.
Calculated by dividing aggregate travel minutes (B08013, total) by the number of workers age 16 and over who did not work from home (B08303, total), rounded to one decimal. Its margin of error is not calculated here. It does not predict your individual route.
ACS figures are survey estimates with sampling uncertainty. Published 90% margins of error accompany the three housing measures when available. A “+” or “Less than” marks an open-ended Census range, not an exact median. Missing figures stay unavailable; they are never treated as zero. Differences are not statistically tested rankings. Currency figures are reported in 2024 dollars.
